Lola Josefina was born on October 10th. Her parents are both Tri Color Beagles. She, as well as all of her ancestors, is a Pure Bred AKC registered Beagle. She is different than our other puppies because her parents were used for hunting. Leela and Logan's parents were all family pets. Lola's parents are both hunting dogs. We got her from a family residing in Bluffdale, Utah. He was in a parking lot of a shopping center in Lehi on Saturday November 24th 2007. Dan noticed they were selling puppies and came to get me from my moms house. I couldn't resist. I asked Dan if I could get her. It was exactly what I wanted for Christmas this year.
Lola is even MORE docile than Logan. She will sit in your lap and fall asleep anytime anywhere. in fact we put her in a little carrying bag and took her to a Christmas party. she just sat in the bag while I ate my dinner, and we opened presents.
She too squeezes through the gates, and so now even with the different types of gates, at least one of my dogs can get past at least one of the gates. Leela can climb over one of them, Logan has now since figured out that he can Jump over the over kind, and Lola can squeeze through the slates on the others. Whatever will we do . . . lol
Lola does NOT like the snow, she likes to be snuggled in your arms and toasty warm. It is SO hard to leave her to go to work, because she is so cute and SO little. I have lots more pictures, but I haven't uploaded them off the camera yet. I will post more later.

Logan Montoya - Little Guy
Logan Montoya was born on April 20th 2007. He has 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Both his parents were Tri Color Beagles. The owners we got Logan from reside in Visalia, California, and we drove to California to pick Logan up. He, as well as all of his ancestors, is a Pure Bred AKC registered Beagle.
When we got Leela we decided then that we wanted to breed Beagles, and had been looking for a mate for her. I researched online for weeks until I found Logan. I emailed and spoke with the owners over the phone and I decided I didn't want to pay the $250 it would cost to ship him in the mail, not to mention it isn't very good for the puppies. She sent me pictures of the puppies when they were 5 weeks old, so they still sort of looked like gerbils. I choose Logan out of the three boys, and asked her if she could send me other pictured of him, since I could only see his face. She sent me a few other pictures, where you could see that he had a LOT of tan and black spots on his legs.
This is not the same as a Blue Tick marking, but there were still tan spots. I decided that I didn't want him and choose another puppy from the picture without the spots. I decided this because Leela did not have any spots, and I wanted them to have the same or similar coloring.
We then made plans to drive to California, packed up Leela in the kennel and were on our way. We drove though the night on Friday and then arrived Saturday June 9th. When actually saw the puppies, the one I had picked out was SO FAT!! I mean he was HUGE. Obesity in pets, especially Beagles, is a very serious thing, and can cause LOTS of health problems. I didn't want to deal with a puppy that was prone to weight gain because I was going to be using him for breeding, and I wanted him to be healthy and happy and a part of our family for a long time. So then I picked up Logan, he was a little chunky (they had obviously been over feeding them) and he had those unmistakable tan and black spots on his legs and belly - but - I fell in love with his spots and had to have him, spots and all. We then got in the car and prepared for a LONG drive home with PLENTY of potty stops for the new little puppy.
We stopped in Las Vegas to visit Dan's Dad, and then drove home, Logan slept on my lap a lot of the way.
We then went though the same crazy sleeping schedule as we did with Leela, getting up all through the night to take Logan out to use the bathroom. Logan did something REALLY funny though. Before he would lay down he would scratch at the bed and hop around in a circle kind of like a cat then walk around a little bit until he finally lays down, it is the FUNNIEST thing. We laugh EVERY night while he makes his little spot to go to sleep.
We immediately notices the difference in our puppies personality. Leela is so high energy and wants to be everywhere all the time, she is constantly jumping up on things and trying to run at full speed anywhere and everywhere she can, following her nose where ever it takes her, she really is a free spirit lol. Logan is almost 100% the opposite. Logan just wants to be with you. He will roll over and look at you with those cute little eyes and you know he is just saying, "Rub my belly PLEEEEEASE!!"
I mean look at that face, how could you say no?
Logan is a sweet little guy and we love him very much. He gets along with Leela, but sometimes they get pretty rough playing together. He would never sleep on the same bed with Leela though, I was concerned that they would not breed, until we finally caught them snuggling together.
I think I took like 50 pictures, because I was SO happy and shocked! Logan is a precious little guy and he gets along well with Leela now and they snuggle together and play and have fun times.

Leela Isabella - Our Baby Girl
Leela Isabella was born on September 28th 2006. She was the youngest and smallest of a little of 9. Both her parents were Tri Color Beagles. The breeders we purchased Leela from reside in Provo, Utah and their Beagles are inside/outside dogs. She, as well as all over her ancestors, is a Pure Bred AKC registered Beagle.
I remember the the day I first saw Leela very well. It was Monday November 20th right before Thanksgiving. We a women sitting in the parking lot with a box of 3 Beagle puppies. We stopped to look and hold the puppies and I just fell in love with this little puppy. She was sassy and energetic, but snuggled up with you as you held her. Dan still had to finish his shift so I took him back to work, and then went back and got our first baby girl, Leela.
We went NUTS at Pets Mart! We bought her two beds, treats, toys, a blanket, puppy food, shampoo, a brush, nail clippers, perfume, breath mints, yeah . . . we like buying things for our baby girl.
That night we went to bed with her in our arms (well except the 15 times we got up to take her to the bathroom outside) It was hard to leave her home the next day as we both went to work. We laid out the training puppy pad for her to go to the bathroom on (cross your fingers) and we gave her loves and left. As soon as we set her down she was crying :( but we had to go. Dan came home for lunch to play with her and take her to the bathroom outside. I am not sure if it mattered because she had peed multiple times in the kitchen. What about the puppy training pad you say? Well it was used as a play toy and ripped to shreds!!
Yeah she looks so innocent and cute, when she is SLEEPING!
The rest of the week was about the same way, we had a few accidents on the bed at night, but she was so snuggly we had to sleep with her. We took her to my parents home in Lehi for the Thanksgiving Holiday where everyone LOVED her and she ate the plants in my Dads greenhouse, got sick, and threw up. To this day she will eat those plants if we let her, yeah I don't understand. lol
She slept with us at night and lived in the kitchen during the day until she was about 5 months old. One night she just decided she didn't want to anymore and she would jump off the bed and go into the kitchen. Every now and then she will sleep with us, she likes to be totally covered with the blankets. She likes to watch TV with us on the bed. It is so funny to see her reactions.
Our baby girl is a handful. She was very hard to house train because she is so independent, and she gets into everything, so we purchased baby gates to keep her in the kitchen. She very quickly learned to jump and climb over the gates. So we had to purchase a different kind of gate, she can't jump over or climb this gate, but she could squeeze through the bars . . .Dan had to finally put chicken wires up so she couldn't squeeze through, but she sure did try, she is a brave little dog.
What a sweetheart. She sure tries our patience when she pees on the floor just to show that she is in charge, or jumps up on the counter and pulls off a bowl or cup and chews it up, because she can - but we love her.
Welcome!
